Here are some things I will miss about being pregnant...
- feeling him move inside me. whether he was kicking or punching or just squirming around, i loved the constant reminder that he was growing inside of me
- along the same lines, i loved it when he had the hiccups
- i'll miss tony sneaking his hand over to feel my stomach move
- being able to eat lots of food and not feel (too) guilty about it! luckily most of the weight i've gained has been in my belly!
- the phone calls/texts/fb messages checking in on me- they've helped especially over the last few weeks (thanks everyone!)
- i will miss it being just me and tony. that may sound silly, but we've been 'jill and tony' for 10 years. we are ready for the next chapter of our lives, but it is still a little sad to me.
Things I'm excited about...
- meeting my son!!
- seeing Tony hold our son
- having our families and friends meet our son
- being able to sleep on my stomach again (although I won't be getting much sleep)!
- having two regular feet- over the last 2 weeks my right foot has swelled and I now refer to it as my sausage foot
- being able to wear regular jeans again (I know this will take some time)
- taking 12 weeks off of work to bond with my son
- getting rid of heartburn. i wake up with heartburn now. i hate it.
I'm sure there are other things I could add to both lists, but my brain won't concentrate.
Good luck. Can't wait to see the little guy! I know you both will make great parents.
ReplyDeleteWe'll be thinking about you both tomorrow morning, although you've been front-of-mind for about a week now.
ReplyDeleteIt's great that you have the clarity to realize that your lives are about to change in a major way; a lot of people have children thinking that everything will go back to "normal" soon after. There's no going back to the old way, but it's a journey that I wouldn't trade for the world.
This is Stacey...
ReplyDeleteJust a reminder that you can actually eat more if you decide to nurse. A pregnant lady is supposed to take in 300 additional calories. A nursing Mama gets 500. Enjoy it!!
I'm praying that Mr. Baby decides to make his exit this evening and for strength for tomorrow.
