The Waiting Game

Okay I'm finally ready for this baby to arrive. Last weekend I kept telling him to give me one more week to get all my ducks in a row at work/school. He apparently listened to me because I made it through another long week of work. I even had Curriculum Night until almost 9 pm Tuesday night. That was one looooooong day. 

Friday morning we had another appointment and I'm already dilated even more than I was the week before. If you are male and want to skip the details, this is your chance- go to the next paragraph. Okay ladies- last Thursday (8/27) I was only 1.5 cm. Not a big deal and I figured this week I might be 2 cm. I haven't had any contractions. On Friday the doctor told us I was 3 cm, but almost 4. He really seemed to think the baby would arrive this weekend. To me it is crazy that I'm already that far along. I hope that means a nice, short labor. 

The doctor also guesstimated the baby's size to be 7 pounds 10 ounces. I think that is a good size. After the doctor appointment I went to work to finish out my week. All of my co-workers were amazed I was there, especially after I told them what the doctor said. As the day went on my back was hurting more and more (it ached some on Thursday too). By the time I was leaving work, I was walking so slow. I really thought I was going to have my baby that night. No such luck. 

Tony and I have been talking to the little guy all weekend telling him he should come out and play and meet his family. I've even told him he'll get to eat/drink something other than amniotic fluid. He listened to me last weekend. Maybe he'll listen to us this weekend. Being in labor on Labor Day would be kinda funny.
