Milo started his winter vacation a day early with a case of viral bronchiolitis. Fun! Despite him being sick for part of our two weeks off together, we still had a good time. Going back last week was tough. It also meant that Milo has been in daycare for a year now. Sometimes that bums me out, but we just can't afford for one of us to stay home all the time. At least I have summers off with him and snow days like the past four days. I still can't believe we have been out all week.
On Monday Milo got to play in the snow for the first time. It was fun watching him try to walk in it- I kept telling him to take big steps but he still fell down a good bit. It's a bit tricky walking in 4+ inches of snow for the first time. Milo loved holding snowballs. He also thoroughly enjoyed watching Tony and I have a snowball fight. He was laughing up a storm. I love that sound.
Here a some pictures from xmas and snow days.
My wife and I struggle with the 'stay home' parent thing. We are lucky cause her mom can take care of Memphis during the day, but to me its still not the same. We honestly talked about selling our home and moving into something smaller so we can afford it on one parents salary.
ReplyDeleteI know Milo is getting a lot out of daycare- they do sign language, yoga, lots of art, and the social interaction with other kids is great... I just hate leaving him there in the mornings. I feel like he hates me for it. I know he doesn't, it is just hard on me. I would love for my mom to watch Milo. I've been trying to work that angle for 2 years now!
ReplyDeleteWill Heidi's mom continue to watch Memphis when #2 arrives? When is the due date? I love babies!
Don't be too hard on yourself. I'm always plotting ways to be with Penn more and considering career moves. Whenever Mike is out of town and Penn and I are alone every day for a week, I realize how much more he gets out of daycare and being with other kids. I'm boring to him! I'm still thinking about teaching though so I can have those summers!
