Grown Up

School is officially out so I've been relaxing around the house. Last Friday was my 30th birthday. It turned out to be a good day and I don't mind being 30 so far. I know it will be an awesome year full of new (baby) adventures. My mom was 30 when she had me, so it just seems right that I'm having my baby when I'm 30. If the baby is born a few days early he could be born on my mom's 60th birthday. That's kinda crazy.

Last night Tony and I toured Piedmont Hospital's labor and delivery wing. For part of the tour we were in a labor/delivery/recovery (LDR) room and the tour guide was telling us all kinds of important information. I think being in that room made things sink in even more. I couldn't help but think that I would be in a similar room in 14 short weeks giving birth to my son. After the tour we attended our first prenatal class (the first of 4).

So turning 30 and seeing the place where I'll give birth has made me realize that I am officially a grown up.

Baby update: We have a name but we're not telling yet! According to my pregnancy email the baby is about 14 inches long and weighs 2 to 2.5 pounds. His eyelids have opened and he is capable of breathing in air. Yay!

  1. Great plan. Do NOT give the name away beforehand. People are far less apt to tell you the name sucks once he's born. Besides, I think it's great that you guys are naming the baby Gorilla Biscuit.

  2. That's really funny. Tony bought the baby a Gorilla Biscuit onesie at the Burning Fight show. Also, Ken Ramsey named his cat Gorilla Biscuit.

  3. I was secretly hoping to name him something punk-related, but not now.

I guess we'll never hear the name GG Allin Price.

  4. Don't you guys worry about a thing. With such quality people as myself and Lunsford being born at Piedmont, how can you go wrong? I mean, right? Hello?
