Happy Birthday Milo!

On Thursday Milo turned 1 year old. I tried to hold it together as long as I could. That night when I looked at the clock and it said 8:11 (the time he was born) I broke down and cried. My little boy was no longer a tiny baby. I know he's been growing up, but this milestone really hit home. The past year has been amazing. I've loved watching him learn new things and take in his surroundings. He's so curious about everything. I love it.

For Milo's birthday I got up a little earlier than usual (5 am) and made him some pancakes. He LOVES pancakes. The night before I also made him so mini cupcakes to take to school. While he was at daycare, one of the directors took a few pictures of Milo on his special day. One of them is below. This was after he ate his mini cupcake.

For dinner that night, the three of us went to Harmony. Milo ate his dinner and even ate some of my green beans. We let him have another mini cupcake. He took the icing off and only ate half of it. Oh well. At least we got to sing 'Happy Birthday' to him.

Today we celebrated again, this time with family and friends. We had about 30 people here throughout the course of the party. Milo was great throughout the party. He did some walking and some 'talking', and at times he turned the cuteness up a couple of notches. When it was time for cake, Milo seemed a bit overwhelmed by everyone staring at him- he only ate a bite of the carrot cake. All the adults seemed to enjoy it though (thank you Dough Bakery!) It looked like Christmas in here by the end of the party. Milo got a ton of new toys and clothes. Sadly, at times he was more interested in the hangers the clothes came on, or the tissue paper that came in the gift bags. I know he will love all of his new things. He already climbed onto the couch to get the Cookie Monster that Kevin gave him. Too cute!
